Lynda.com: Anytime, Anywhere Online Learning Comes to Rock County Libraries
Milton, WI – July 2, 2018 – Lynda.com, the leading online learning platform that helps anyone learn
Lynda.com is a subscription-based online learning platform featuring thousands of instructional video tutorials authored by recognized industry experts and filmed in professional studios. Videos are available on demand, anytime. There is no need to wait for a session start date or for lessons to be released. Library cardholders avoid the standard $29.99 monthly private-user fee by accessing Lynda.com through the library’s login portal using the link on your library’s website, ALS’s website, or directly at www.lynda.com/portal/sip?org=lakeshores.lib.wi.us. When using this portal, patrons will be asked for their library card barcode and PIN instead of a credit card.
Once you log in and create an account, you can specify your areas of interest, develop video playlists, watch videos, choose Learning Paths (curated video playlists spanning a variety of topics related to a central goal), download content for offline viewing, and so much more. For directions on how to use the Lynda.com app visit Arrowhead Library System’s website and click “Learn more about Lynda.com” near the bottom of the homepage.
Lynda.com is available to cardholders of all public libraries within the SHARE Consortium, that’s every public library in the counties of Rock, Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth. Up to 100 card holders may use Lynda.com at the same time so let’s get learning!
In addition to Lynda.com, Arrowhead Library System will continue to offer Gale Courses, an online learning platform modeled around a more traditional classroom with new six-week sessions beginning monthly and two lessons released each week. Find more information about these and all of Arrowhead Library System’s Online Learning and Exploration tools under the “Pages for Patrons” tab of Arrowhead Library Systems new website: http://als.lib.wi.us.
